Retail Security

We're one of the few electrical contractors in Auckland who specialise in retail security systems — Gatekeeper pedestrian gates, EAS tagging, CCTV, and security lighting for large format retail. It's niche work, and we know it inside out.

Straight answers

We get a lot of the same questions — so here are honest answers. If yours isn't here, just call us.

What does it cost to hire an electrician?
Every job is different, but our pricing is fair, competitive, and reflects the quality and reliability of our workmanship. Our minimum charge includes the first hour on site and covers travel to your location. When you book a job with us, we'll email you a clear breakdown of our standard rates and any applicable charges as part of your confirmation. For smaller jobs, our standard hourly rates apply. For larger or more complex projects, we're happy to arrange a free quote.
Do you charge for quotes?
+
We offer free quotes for all commercial and certain types of residential jobs. To give you an accurate pricing, we may need to carry out a site visit or discuss the scope in more detail — this will always be communicated up front.
What's the difference between a CoC and ESC, and do I need one?
+
A Certificate of Compliance (COC) is issued for new electrical installations or major work and confirms that the job meets New Zealand's legal and safety requirements. An Electrical Safety Certificate (ESC) confirms that the work has been tested and is safe to use. Depending on the type of job, you may receive one or both documents. We'll always provide the correct certification to ensure your peace of mind and compliance with NZ electrical standards.
Do you charge for travel?
+
Our initial call-out fee includes travel within our standard Auckland service area. For additional visits, after-hours work, or remote locations, a small travel fee may apply — but we'll always let you know in advance as part of your booking confirmation.
How are materials charged?
+
We supply high-quality materials that meet all relevant New Zealand standards and are covered by both product and workmanship warranties. This ensures the job is done right the first time — with no surprises later. To guarantee compliance and safety, we generally do not install customer-supplied materials. However, lighting fixtures — such as decorative pendants, feature lights, or other specialty fittings — can be selected and supplied by the customer, as these often require personal aesthetic choices. We're happy to install these as part of your project.
